VoIP (Voice Over IP)

The need to reduce telecommunications service cost has led many communications managers to an interest in the capabilities of IP Telephony. Enterprises all over the globe are consuming more and more telecommunication services and yet demanding reduced costs in order to stay competitive.

Shifting traffic from the public switch telephone network (PSTN) onto a managed Internet can slash telecommunications service costs. Service charges include the local and long distance services for applications such as voice, fax and other media.

With NEC's IP station solution, you can converge your data and voice network without the fear of losing features/functions on either network and save costs by eliminating the phone only circuit.

Digital Signage

Large digital signage has become commonplace throughout the world: airports, retail stores, schools, sports venues, manufacturing facilities and more—all delivering specific messages to target audiences. But how do these large digital signs—usually Liquid Crystal Displays (LCDs) or Plasma Panel Displays (PDPs)—get the content they are playing to their audience? In many cases a local DVD player does the job but often at considerable expense, especially when the messages need to change regularly or vary by site. Discs have to be created, shipped, delivered, installed and maintained while the system has to be monitored to assure that the messages are played at the proper time. In a large retail environment, for example, with many geographically dispersed locations, this distribution can be extremely costly.

To maximize the efficiency and flexibility of delivering digital signage content while minimizing the cost, NEC has developed the BlueFire® VC Digital Signage Controller. The BlueFire VC is an IP/Ethernet network addressable device that is collocated with the display signage.

Being LAN-connected enables the BlueFire VC with appropriate third party software to receive content, scheduling and other instructions from a single control site. Multiple display systems can be controlled and monitored from this central location. Each BlueFire VC has an 80 GB hard drive for storing multiple messages for playback according to schedule.
